Location: Work from home position when not out in the field with dealers. Must live in one of the following states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana.

This position requires frequent travel to multiple dealer locations in the following states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana.

Must live in one of the states listed above in order to travel to the dealers and help their mechanics work on Kobelco Excavators.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage a dense market of regional dealers in order to ensure that all work and responsibilities each of his dealers is followed through properly within designated areas.
  • Responsible for visiting each dealer every other month or within a timely basis and making sure that at technical matters are attended to during visits and will follow up on any unresolved field complaints in a professional formal meeting at either dealer or customer’s jobsite with supporting dealer personnel accompanying this meeting.
  • Perform weekly technical calls with each dealer for dealer development and training.
  • Perform a weekly conference call to the sales and service group to keep connected to company’s direction, procedures, etc.
  • Provide documentation of each dealer visit, customer field audit, and technical support call to the National service manager weekly and a monthly report by the 7th of the following month.
  • Training of dealer network personnel if needed to ensure all support personnel have sufficient training and knowledge to support the product successfully.
  • Advancement of dealer network personnel by assessing skill level of field service technicians and accommodating the proper levels of training courses to increase skills level of dealer network.
  • Staying current with all improvements in technology and equipment design and changes as related to our field of products.
  • Communicate effectively with adverse, difficult situations and provide a positive approach to problem solving and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all paperwork from dealer network is properly completed, and that all holds and issues are cleared relating but not limited to: work orders, shipment notices, warranty registrations, KOMEXS release documents and all others.
  • Assist in promotion and sale of excavators in his region as well as assist in promotion of additional equipment such as KOMEXS, extended warranties and services.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Participate in weekly Field Service Department. Manager conference calls.
  • Attend company-based training events and conferences as required.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Live within Area of Management.
  • Ability to communicate technically in Bi-Lingual environment – English and Spanish.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Two to five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to comprehend technical drawings such as Engineering Cad drawings, Hydraulic and electrical schematics and other types of technical materials.
  • Strong analytical ability required to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, management, and customers; strong and demonstrated effective verbal, written and listening skills and professional telephone skills and manners. Must be able to work as a member and leader of a team.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
  • Available to work as needed to answer calls from area professionals, and complete repair or direct as needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally 60% of the time.
  • Available to take care of customers or employees at any reasonable time of day/week.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applied skills normally obtained through the completion of an Associate Degree in a technical discipline or the equivalent work experience from this or a related industry or from military service and technical training.
  • College or Technical school graduate preferred.
