Job Summary:  The warehouse worker will work as part of a team to ensure that parts and other components are received, stored and delivered to the various production areas of the plant in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Moves product inside and outside the warehouse by using equipment such as a tugger or forklift.
  • Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing containers safely on a daily basis.
  • Identify and label materials inside and outside the warehouse in FIFO order.
  • Prepares returnable pallets for shipments by cleaning, pulling, and packing in specified order.
  • Operates forklift, crane, pallet jack, and tugger as necessary to perform daily duties.
  • Must perform OSHA regulated safety checklist daily to maintain efficient moving operation.
  • Actively participates in process improvement activities (safety, quality and productivity).
  • Keeps work area clean, free from safety hazards and follows all applicable safety rules.
  • Works as a team member and cooperates with co-workers.
  • Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
  • Assist with semi-annual and annual inventory by aligning materials in designated locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must pass internal forklift road test.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work in a highly structured environment, strictly adhering to provided standard work instructions.
  • Able to wear all required PPE.
  • Proficient in the execution of methods and procedures.
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Excellent problem solving ability.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and practices.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
  • Able to work effectively with and to guide and train others on tasks and procedures.
  • Ability to work OT when required, including weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma (or GED).
  • 3 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical demands of the job include: stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting (up to 40 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, and prolonged standing, fingering and climbing; also working in a plant environment with varying temperatures.
